This week I introduce you to Porto Alegre, the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, the 5th most popular, and the southernmost state in Brazil. It is the birthplace of famous people like the supermodel Gisele Bündchen, the soccer player Ronaldinho Gaúcho* and Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. The state is the home of Beira Rio stadium, with capacity for 48,849 soccer fans, it will host 5 games during the World Cup.
*Gaúcho is the name given to those born in Rio Grande do Sul and have a particular culture and lifestyle that you only see in that state of Brazil.
