Caipirinha

Caipirinha is our most traditional cocktail. We call caipirinha when made with cachaça and caipiroska when made with vodka.

To make one you will need 3 basic ingredients: lime, sugar and cachaça (Brazilian liquor made from sugar cane). Now, careful... It has between 38% and 50% alcohol by volume... you know what I mean, right?

1 lime, cut into wedges

2 teaspoon of sugar

2 oz cachaça

crushed ice

Place lime wedges in an old-fashioned glass, add sugar and muddle it into the lime wedges, stir well. Fill the glass with crushed ice and pour in cachaça.

There are many variations to this recipe, for example you can replace lime with strawberry or kiwi. Or you can use a different liquor... but when you change the recipe, it’s no longer called caipirinha ;)
